How to View Blocked Numbers on Android
If you've blocked a number on your Android device in the past and now want to check who's on that list but aren't sure how to do it — don't worry! In this article, I'll show you where to find the list of blocked numbers and how to manage it. It's simple and quick!
Why Check Your Blocked Numbers List?
Sometimes we block numbers by mistake, or a blocked number may no longer be relevant. In such cases, it’s a good idea to periodically review your list to ensure that important contacts haven’t been accidentally blocked.
Finding Blocked Numbers in the Phone App
On most Android devices, blocked numbers are stored in the Phone app. Here’s how you can view the list:
- Open the Phone app on your Android device.
- Tap the three dots (or three lines) icon at the top right corner to open the menu.
- Select Settings.
- Navigate to the Blocked Numbers or Blacklist section.
- You will see a list of all the numbers you have blocked.
Viewing Blocked Numbers in the Messages App
If you often block numbers through the Messages app, you can find the list there as well:
- Open the Messages app.
- Tap the three dots icon in the top right corner and select Settings.
- Go to the Blocked Contacts or Block & Filter section.
- Review the list of blocked numbers and remove any you no longer want to block.
Alternative Ways to Check Blocked Numbers via Android Settings
If you can’t find blocked numbers in the Phone or Messages app, try checking through the general Android settings:
- Go to your device’s Settings.
- Navigate to the Sound & Notifications or Apps & Notifications section.
- Select Call Blocking or Call Filtering.
- Open the Blocked Numbers list and review it.
How to Unblock a Number
If you find a number in the list that you want to unblock, follow these steps:
- Locate the number in the blocked contacts list.
- Tap the Unblock icon (usually shown as an unlocked padlock or a button with text).
- Confirm the action, and the number will be removed from the blocked list.
