How to Add Widgets to Your iPhone Lock Screen

The iPhone lock screen has become much more functional with the ability to add widgets, allowing users to view essential information without unlocking their device. In this article, we'll walk you through how to easily and quickly add widgets to your iPhone's lock screen.

Step 1: Unlock Your Device and Enter Edit Mode

First, unlock your iPhone, but don't swipe to the home screen. Press and hold on the lock screen to enter edit mode, where you'll be able to customize elements of your lock screen.

Step 2: Tap "Customize"

Once in edit mode, you'll see a "Customize" option below your current lock screen. Tap on it to open the customization interface, which allows you to add and edit widgets.

Step 3: Add Desired Widgets

A button for adding widgets will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap this area to open a list of available widgets. You can choose from various categories, including weather, calendars, reminders, and even third-party apps if they support lock screen widgets.

Step 4: Arrange Widget Placement

Drag your chosen widgets to your preferred positions on the lock screen. Usually, there are a few spots available for placement: the upper part of the screen (below the date) and the lower area below the clock. Arrange them for easy access to the information you need most.

Step 5: Save Changes

Once you've added and positioned the widgets to your liking, tap "Done" in the top-right corner of the screen. Your changes will be saved, and now your lock screen will display the widgets you've selected.
