How to Enable Standby Mode on iPhone

Standby Mode is a helpful feature on iPhone that allows users to temporarily pause notifications and inform others that they’re busy. This is especially useful during meetings, study sessions, or sleep when you need to limit distractions. Here’s how to enable this mode on your iPhone:

Step 1: Open the Control Center

First, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen (on iPhones with Face ID) or up from the bottom of the screen (on models with a Home button) to open the Control Center.

Step 2: Select "Do Not Disturb" Mode

Look for the crescent moon icon, which represents the “Do Not Disturb” mode. Tap this icon to activate Standby Mode and silence all notifications temporarily.

Step 3: Set Up a Schedule and Exceptions

For more customized control, press and hold the “Do Not Disturb” icon. In the menu that appears, you can schedule Standby Mode to turn on automatically at certain times or in specific locations. You can also add exceptions for important contacts who will still be able to reach you during this mode.

Step 4: Checking and Turning Off the Mode

When you’re ready to disable Standby Mode, simply open the Control Center again and tap the crescent moon icon. All notifications will resume as normal.

Additional Settings

iOS also offers Focus Modes, allowing you to create more specific scenarios, such as for work, study, or relaxation. To customize these modes, go to Settings > Focus, where you can select pre-set templates or create your own.

Standby Mode on iPhone is an excellent way to manage your time efficiently and reduce distractions in everyday life.
