How to Hide Apps on iPhone
Sometimes we need to hide certain apps on our iPhones to protect personal information or simply keep the home screen organized. In this article, we’ll explore several easy and effective ways to hide apps on your iPhone using built-in features and alternative methods.
1. Using the "Screen Time" Feature
The "Screen Time" feature allows you to hide apps by setting content and privacy restrictions. Here’s how to do it:
- Go to Settings and open Screen Time.
- Select Content & Privacy Restrictions and enable it.
- Tap on Allowed Apps and disable the visibility of the apps you want to hide.
The selected apps will now be hidden from your iPhone’s home screen. To make them visible again, return to this section and enable the apps.
2. Move Apps to the App Library
Starting from iOS 14, you can use the App Library feature to remove apps from the home screen while keeping them accessible in the library:
- Press and hold the icon of the app you want to hide.
- Select Remove from Home Screen. The app will be hidden from the main screen but will remain in the App Library.
To find the app, swipe right to access the App Library and use the search function.
3. Create a Hidden Folder
If you want to hide multiple apps at once, you can create a folder and place it on the last page of your home screen:
- Press and hold any app icon and drag it onto another app to create a folder.
- Add all the apps you want to hide into this folder.
- Move the folder to the last page of your iPhone’s home screen.
This method makes the folder less visible and harder to find.
4. Hide Apps from Siri Suggestions and Search
To prevent an app from appearing in Siri Suggestions or search results, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings and tap on Siri & Search.
- Find the app you want to hide and turn off Show in Search and Suggest App.
The app will no longer appear in search results or Siri suggestions.
5. Use Third-Party Apps
There are several third-party apps that can help you organize and hide apps on your iPhone. For example, Secret Folder App or AppLock can hide apps and protect them with a password. However, be cautious when using such apps and only download them from the official App Store to avoid security issues.
