How to Turn Off Keyboard Sound on iPhone
If you find the keyboard sound on your iPhone distracting, especially in quiet environments, there are several ways to turn it off. In this guide, we'll show you how to easily mute the keyboard click sound on your iPhone.
Method 1: Using the Silent Mode Switch
The quickest way to disable the keyboard sound is by using the physical silent mode switch on the side of your iPhone:
- Locate the small switch on the side of your iPhone, near the volume buttons.
- Flip the switch downwards to activate silent mode (you’ll see an orange line).
- Once silent mode is on, keyboard clicks, notifications, and call sounds will be muted.
Method 2: Disable Keyboard Sound in Settings
If you prefer to turn off only the keyboard sound while keeping other system sounds active, follow these steps:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Navigate to “Sounds & Haptics” or “Sounds”.
- Scroll down and find the “Keyboard Clicks” option.
- Toggle the switch off to disable the keyboard sound.
Now, you won’t hear any sound when typing, but other system sounds will remain unaffected.
Method 3: Adjust the Volume
If you don’t want to completely turn off the sound, you can simply lower the volume:
- Press the “Volume Down” button on the side of your iPhone.
- Lower the volume until the keyboard sound is quiet enough for your preference.
This is a useful option if you still want to hear some system sounds but reduce the loudness of the keyboard clicks.
