How to Add the Bluetooth Icon to the Windows Taskbar

Adding the Bluetooth icon to your Windows taskbar makes it easy to manage wireless devices, which is especially convenient for connecting headphones, keyboards, mice, and other accessories. This guide will walk you through the steps to add the Bluetooth icon to your Windows taskbar, giving you quick access to Bluetooth settings.

Step 1: Open Windows Settings

Start by opening Windows Settings. You can do this by pressing Win + I or selecting the gear icon from the Start menu.

Step 2: Go to the “Devices” Section

In the settings window, find and select the “Devices” category—this contains all the settings for connecting and managing devices, including Bluetooth.

Step 3: Enable Bluetooth (if it’s disabled)

Under the “Devices” section, select the “Bluetooth & Other Devices” tab. If Bluetooth is turned off, switch it on by toggling the button. Wait for Windows to activate the Bluetooth module if it wasn’t already active.

Step 4: Configure Bluetooth Icon Display on Taskbar

Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the link “More Bluetooth Options.” Click on it to open additional Bluetooth settings.

Step 5: Enable Display of the Bluetooth Icon in the Notification Area

In the window that opens, find the option “Show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area” and check the box next to it. Click OK or Apply to save your changes.

Step 6: Check the Taskbar

The Bluetooth icon should now appear in the taskbar notification area. If you don’t see it right away, click the upward arrow to expand additional icons. You can also drag the Bluetooth icon onto the taskbar for easier access.

What to Do if the Icon Doesn’t Appear

If the Bluetooth icon is still not visible after following these steps, try restarting your computer. Also, make sure your Bluetooth drivers are installed and working correctly. You can update drivers through the Device Manager, which you can access by right-clicking the Start menu.
