How to Change the Download Folder in Microsoft Edge Browser

If you want to set up Microsoft Edge so that all downloaded files are saved in a convenient location for you, you can do it in just a few simple steps. Follow the instructions below to quickly change your download folder.

Step 1: Open Browser Settings

Open Microsoft Edge and click on the three dots in the upper-right corner of the window (this is the menu button). In the dropdown menu, select "Settings".

Step 2: Go to the “Downloads” Section

In the settings sidebar, choose the "Downloads" section. Here, you’ll see the current download folder path.

Step 3: Change the Download Folder

Next to the current folder path, click on the "Change" button. A file explorer window will open, allowing you to select a new folder for your downloads. Choose the desired location and confirm your selection.

Step 4: Optional Additional Settings

In this same section, you can enable the option "Ask me what to do with each download". If you activate this setting, the browser will prompt you for a location each time before saving a file.
