How to Change the Email Address of Your Microsoft Account

If you want to update the email address associated with your Microsoft account, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account at account.microsoft.com.
  2. Go to the “Your Info” section.
  3. Select “Manage how you sign in to Microsoft”.
  4. Under “Account aliases”, click on “Add email”.
  5. Enter the new email address and follow the instructions to verify it.
  6. After verification, set the new email as your primary alias by selecting “Make primary”.
  7. If needed, remove the old email by clicking “Remove” next to it.

Note: If you remove a Microsoft domain alias (such as @outlook.com), that address will be permanently deleted from the system and cannot be reused. Learn more here.
