How to Change the Email Address of Your Microsoft Account
If you want to update the email address associated with your Microsoft account, follow these steps:
- Log in to your account at account.microsoft.com.
- Go to the “Your Info” section.
- Select “Manage how you sign in to Microsoft”.
- Under “Account aliases”, click on “Add email”.
- Enter the new email address and follow the instructions to verify it.
- After verification, set the new email as your primary alias by selecting “Make primary”.
- If needed, remove the old email by clicking “Remove” next to it.
Note: If you remove a Microsoft domain alias (such as @outlook.com), that address will be permanently deleted from the system and cannot be reused. Learn more here.
