How to Change the Lock Screen Language in Windows 10

If the language displayed on your Windows 10 lock screen differs from the system’s primary language, you can adjust this by changing a few settings in the operating system. Follow the steps below to set the desired language for the lock screen.

Step 1: Open Windows Settings

Click Start and select Settings (the gear icon) or use the Win + I shortcut to quickly open the settings menu.

Step 2: Go to "Time & Language"

In the settings window, select Time & Language, then open the Region & Language section. Here, you’ll see the system’s primary language, and you can add additional languages if needed.

Step 3: Configure Administrative Language Settings

To change the lock screen language, you’ll need to adjust the administrative language settings. In the Region & Language window, click on Additional date, time, and regional settings on the right side, then select Region.

Step 4: Open Copy Settings

In the Region window, go to the Administrative tab and select Copy settings.... This menu allows you to set the language displayed on the welcome and lock screens.

Step 5: Apply Changes to the Welcome Screen and New User Accounts

In the Copy Settings menu, check the boxes next to Welcome screen and system accounts and New user accounts. This will ensure that the selected language applies across all interfaces, including the lock screen.

Step 6: Restart Your Computer
