How to Disable Notifications in Google Chrome

Website notifications in Google Chrome can be useful, but sometimes they become overwhelming. If you want to fully disable or customize notifications for specific sites, follow the simple steps below.

Step 1: Open Chrome Settings

  1. Open Google Chrome on your device.
  2. Click the three dots icon in the upper right corner to open the menu.
  3. Select “Settings” from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Go to Privacy and Security Settings

  1. In the left sidebar, select “Privacy and security”.
  2. Then click on “Site settings”.

Step 3: Disable Notifications

  1. In the “Site settings” section, select “Notifications”.
  2. To completely turn off notifications, toggle the switch to “Don't allow sites to send notifications” at the top of the page.
  3. If you only want to block notifications from specific sites, scroll down to the list of websites and choose “Block” next to the desired site.

Step 4: Clear the Allowed Sites List (Optional)

If you want to remove all previously allowed sites, click the three dots icon next to each site and choose “Remove”. This prevents notifications from previously approved websites.

Additional Tips

You can also use Incognito mode if you want to temporarily avoid notifications. In this mode, Chrome does not save notification preferences for the session, which keeps annoying messages at bay.
