How to Disable Proxy Server in Windows 11
Proxy servers can be helpful for enhanced security or accessing certain resources, but they may also slow down your internet connection or cause connection issues. If you need to disable the proxy server in Windows 11, follow these simple steps.
Step 1: Open “Settings”
Click on “Start” and select “Settings”, or use the Win + I
shortcut for quick access to the settings menu.
Step 2: Go to “Network & Internet”
In the “Settings” window, find and click on “Network & Internet”. This section includes all options related to your internet connection and network configuration.
Step 3: Open Proxy Settings
Under the “Network & Internet” section, look for the “Proxy” option and click on it. This will take you to the proxy settings, where you can disable both automatic and manual proxy use.
Step 4: Disable Proxy Server
To disable the proxy server, follow these steps:
- In the “Automatic proxy setup” section, turn off “Automatically detect settings” if it’s enabled.
- In the “Manual proxy setup” section, switch the “Use a proxy server” toggle to “Off”.
Step 5: Restart Your Browser or Application
After disabling the proxy server, restart your browser or the application experiencing connectivity issues so that the changes take effect. You should now have a direct connection to the internet without using a proxy server.
