How to Disable the Game Bar in Windows 10
The Windows 10 Game Bar can be helpful for screen recording and capturing gameplay moments. However, it may slow down your system, especially on less powerful devices. If you'd like to disable this feature, follow this step-by-step guide.
1. Open Windows Settings
Click Start and select Settings (gear icon), or press Win + I on your keyboard to quickly open the settings window.
2. Go to the “Gaming” Section
In the Settings window, select the Gaming section. This menu allows you to adjust gaming features, including the Game Bar and gaming modes.
3. Turn Off the Game Bar
In the Game Bar menu, find the option Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game Bar and switch the toggle to Off.
4. Disable Background Recording
To fully free up system resources, it’s also recommended to turn off background recording. Go to the Captures section in the same menu and turn off the option Record in the background while I’m playing a game.
5. Turn Off Game Mode (Optional)
If you don’t need Game Mode in Windows 10, you can disable it as well. Go to the Game Mode section and turn off the toggle for this feature.
Finishing Up
Now, the Game Bar and all related features will be disabled, which may improve your computer's performance, especially if you don’t use these functions for recording or streaming.
Disabling the Game Bar is a quick way to reduce system load and improve responsiveness in everyday use.
