How to Enable Dark Mode in Windows 10 File Explorer
Dark mode in Windows 10 not only gives your interface a sleek look but also reduces eye strain in low-light environments. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to enable dark mode for Windows 10 File Explorer.
Step 1: Open Windows Settings
The first step is to open Windows Settings. Click on the “Start” button in the bottom left corner of your screen, then select “Settings” (gear icon).
Step 2: Go to the “Personalization” Section
In the Settings window, choose the “Personalization” section to access the theme and color options for your system.
Step 3: Select the “Colors” Tab
In the Personalization menu on the left, click on the “Colors” tab. Here you’ll find settings to change the color scheme of the Windows interface.
Step 4: Activate Dark Mode
In the “Choose your default app mode” section, select “Dark”. Windows will automatically apply the dark theme to all supported apps, including File Explorer.
Additional Settings
If you want the dark mode to apply to the entire system, not just the apps, choose “Windows color” under the Colors section and set it to “Dark”. This will apply the dark theme to your Start menu and taskbar as well.
