How to Remove a Language in Windows 10
Many Windows 10 users may need to remove an extra language from their system, especially if it's no longer in use or was added accidentally. Follow these simple steps to delete any unnecessary languages from Windows 10.
Step 1: Open Windows Settings
First, open the Start menu and click on Settings (the gear icon). In the window that opens, select «Time & Language».
Step 2: Go to the «Language» Section
In the «Time & Language» menu, click on the «Language» tab on the left. Here, you’ll see a list of all the languages installed on your system for both input and display.
Step 3: Remove the Unwanted Language
Find the language you wish to remove in the list. Click on it and select «Remove». This will delete the language from your system, and it will no longer appear as an input option.
Important Notes
- Some languages, such as the primary display language of Windows, cannot be removed. To delete the primary language, you must first switch to another display language.
- Removing a language will not delete any downloaded language packs, but these can be removed separately in Windows settings if you want to free up disk space.
