The Microsoft Teams chat appears on the Windows 11 taskbar and is active by default. If you don’t plan to use it, you can simply disable it:

  • Right-click on the taskbar.
  • Select Taskbar settings.
  • Toggle the Chat switch to the Off position.

After doing this, the chat icon will disappear from the taskbar, and the app won’t bother you anymore.

If you want to completely remove Microsoft Teams from your system, you can do this through Windows Settings:

  • Open Settings by pressing Win + I.
  • Go to Apps and select Apps & features.
  • Find Microsoft Teams in the list, click on it, and choose Uninstall.

This will remove Microsoft Teams from your system, though some residual files and data may remain.

3. Fully Removing Microsoft Teams and Its Data

To completely remove all Microsoft Teams data, follow these steps:

  • Uninstall Teams through Settings, as described above.
  • Navigate to the folder C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams and delete all contents.

Now, Microsoft Teams is fully removed, including any leftover data.
