How to Restore the Computer Icon on the Windows 11 Desktop

In Windows 11, as in previous versions of the operating system, the “This PC” icon might not appear on the desktop by default. However, if you want to add it back for quick access to your files and system settings, you can easily do so with a few simple steps.

Step 1: Open Personalization Settings

First, right-click on an empty area of the desktop and select “Personalize” from the context menu. This will take you to the settings section, where you can customize the appearance of the desktop and other Windows elements.

Step 2: Go to the “Themes” Section

In the Personalization menu on the left, select “Themes”. This menu allows you to manage themes, wallpapers, and desktop icons.

Step 3: Access Desktop Icon Settings

In the “Themes” section, scroll down to find the “Desktop Icon Settings” option. Click on it to open the window where you can configure desktop icons.

Step 4: Select Icons to Display

In the “Desktop Icon Settings” window, check the box next to “Computer”, as well as any other icons you want to display on the desktop, such as “Recycle Bin” or “Network.”

Step 5: Save Changes

Once you’ve selected the icons you want, click “Apply” and then “OK”. The “This PC” icon will now appear on your Windows 11 desktop.
